I am back!

Hey everyone,
I know your probably like "Where has Christine gone?!" Well now I'll give you the lowdown.
This year I moved schools. MIDDLE SCHOOL. Homework takes a longer amount of time and needs alot more effort. So times have been fun with projects and homework. But I think I fit in well. I have started new projects in art, such as bleach paintings and collages with newspaper. I haven't forgotten anyone here. Now that I am getting used to all of this, things are changing and I won't be able to write as much anymore :( But don't worry- I WILL TRY MY HARDEST TO GET ON AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE!
Love,

cupcakes: a sweet sensation for your tastebuds ♥

Cupcake
It's funny. Everyone I know, like friends && fam, always say that when they see something cupcake or cupcake related, they think of me! Cupcakes are so cool- they got their name from england, cupcake, which means "fairy cake"! Their adorable, bite-size cakes that each have their own passion, design, personality and look. These cupcakes will make cakes look like nothing!

Their so easy to make, and especially making the toppings with sprinkles of the rainbow and fondant- it's awesome!

When I am older, I am going to do a side business (like dc cupcakes!!) with my cousin, Sofia, or my Mom, and maybe a friend. I would love it!

CUPCAKES ARE MY LIFE!

p.s this week is cupcake week! check in every other day (or maybe everyday :) to find new recipies for cupcakes and more brought to you by martha stewart and barefoot contessa.

Martha Stewart: Take a Bite out of This!

Grand-prize winner SteffBomb won over our hearts with her adorable "Ice Cream Sammy," created while she was on a mission to curb her sweet tooth.

After making the toy's pattern, she cut it out of cardboard and bristol board. "The inside of the ice cream is a soft piece of foam that I cut out with an electric knife," she says. "I also stuffed the inside of the cookie with a thin layer of batting to give it a little bit of fluff."

Complete with eyes, teeth, and teardrops, the charming 5.5-inch-long toy is 95 percent hand-stitched and looks good enough to eat.

Visit SteffBomb's
website to see more of her sewing projects.

a summer sweet treat: pudding pops ♥ yum!

doesn't that look delicious! pudding pops... mmm... with a little twist- rainbow!

here's how to make this simple and sweet treat.

*Get your ingredients and supplies. You're ready to go!
Ingredients:
*You will need a box {or two} of instant vanilla pudding, milk, food coloring, a couple of mixing bowls, a whisk, plastic or paper cups, and popsicle sticks.

*Pour your pudding mix into a big bowl.

*Pour some milk in.

*Once the pudding is mixed, divide it into separate bowls, the number depending on color but if you want rainbow, use five or six bowls.

*Add in red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, and brown or whatever color dye is desired. Then stir it up until the color is evened with the amount of pudding.

*Spoon the different colors of pudding into your cups. Try to do smooth and even layers so that you will see a good rainbow on the sides of the pudding pop. Have one of your helpers put a popsicle stick into each of the cups of pudding. The pudding should be thick enough to hold up the stick...if not, cover the cup with plastic wrap and then put the stick through the plastic wrap and into the pudding.

*Place cups in freezer. Time adjusts to size.

*After they are set, use your hands to warm the cup up, so the pop can slide out!

Enjoy and love your cute little treat this summer!

Thanks,

RandomThoughtsofaSUPERMOM

shopping haul - p.s. aero

before i headed to the beach, on monday,, my mom and i took a trip to the mall. i found out about this new store, p.s. by aero, and my babysitter took me there before & got me a cute bright yellow sweatshirt. so we went back, and we did a little bit of shopping. their stuff is so cute, and if your in the age range of 9-13, the clothes are good for you. filled to the brim with boys and girls clothes. new and clean. i definitely reccomend you go there if you love sun dresses, preppy shorts, suttle, modest graphic tees (unlike some other stores like justice) and cute accessories.

i didn't like aero, before, but now that they've come out with this store for pretweens, im into it.

JACK JOHNSON: SAVING THE WORLD, ONE HAND AT A TIME

Jack Johnson, an amazing singer and eco friendly guy who's at the age of 33, is now opening an organization, "All at Once" to help save the world economical wise. He is not a big fan of this oil spill, or anything pollution-wise. He's a great man in many ways, but this makes him special- especially for a 33 year old soft-rock music guy to be worrying about this out of anything. This organization he's opened is for people looking to take action against pollution, and things that destroy our nation in natural protection and cleaning up after disasters, and eco problems. He, without the organization, also uses everything natural. He is an organic person. He does worry about the future on this planet with all the bad build up. In example, some of his songs, are about pollution- "Traffic in the Sky".

Other then that, Jack Johnson is my favorite singer of all time. His new hit album "To the Sea" is very popular now. In every CD he makes, you can really feel the way he feels about life and our planet. Each and every song has a quality message about life and being happy. Some songs are sad to really get you in the mood and to understand what will happen with our nation when too many people worry about material things other then what we have. He's very close with the ocean. He surfed as a young kid, and he got hurt. Many people after that told him that he had an amazing voice. He opened his own recording studio, which by the way, uses solar power and is all natural, and he recorded songs for his first album.

His songs are so popular to people over the world and he just started his tour in the Us. My Dad is going to all the concerts he's in this Summer. I am going to two of them. One is tonight. I am very anxious to go! Right now, We are making big posters.

I will post pictures of our shirts, the signs, and the concert later or tomorrow!

Spreading Sunshine and Happiness in my Part of the World

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vr3x_RRJdd4

Free Hugs! Stress can take over your life. It's slow but deadly. When stress or anxiety hits me, it's like a giant black cloud that accumulates over my head. It makes me feel depressed. With this "Free Hugs" campaign, maybe this will make things a little better. But even if not, look how cool it is for this person to be doing this out of so many people! And if you want to stay stress free remember. Cool down. Look on the bright side. There you go. So check out the video- let me know what you think!

dog days of summer

here's bella, the first time she actually paid attention to the camera: another special moment. she was much enjoyful today, taking her out for the day to maryland to see the water and visit the street shops that lined the old streets. following she came with us to get new herbs from our garden. she really enjoyed nipping the little bright flowers like she was eating candy. that was a dream for her.. she frolicked and waddled.. she was in delight. she loved the drive to maryland and back. for her, it's relaxing and fun. that's the dog days of summer.

*lunch ideas, to keep your belly satisfied*

I love a great lunch.. Mmm.. I am talking cucumbers with oil & vinegar/salad, cheese, water or iced tea, and ooh, yummy tortellini or manicotti in a small thermos.. Here's a guide to make your lunch something to look forward to.

Keep it healthy. Try to keep the Food Pyramid in mind.. No sweets.. Whole Grains.

Whole Grains: Wraps, crackers, breads, pasta, pretzels, and cereal.

Protein: Meats, Poultry, Pork, Fish, Beans, Cheese, and nuts, seeds, and yougurt.

Veggies & Fruits too! Try all of the colors. Make it fun by cutting them in cute & cool shapes.

Try to keep it simple.

If your lunch is sweet, keep it sweet.

If it is a salty one, keep it on the sunchips side.

And remember, only eat the right portion. Don't over eat- that is the key.

Eat your favorite or most common cravings! (still, healthy too)

With this, you will be lovin' lunch & life.

Mini-Facials : made for you!

PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU START!

Every couple of weeks, set aside a bit of time to have friends over to have a relaxing salon-style facial at home. It'll help keep skin deep-down clean and super soft!

1. Smooth your skin with cleansing cream, gentle soap, or face wash. Leave it for one or two minutes to give it time to dissolve grime and make up, then wipe away with a clean, damp towel.

2. Massage a blob of facial scrub or some dry, uncooked oatmeal over your skin to whisk away dead surface skin cells and clear blocked pores. Rinse away with warm water.

3. Fill a bowl with boiled water (with parent's permission and help). Then lean over the bowl capturing the steam by placing a towel over your head. Stay there for 5 minutes to allow the steam to warm and soften your skin. Those with sensitive skin should skip this step!

4. Splash your face with warm water and PAT dry.

5. Smooth on homemade fruit facial:If you have oily skin: Crush 6 strawberries with a fork, smooth onto your face, and leave on for three minutes. If you have normal/dry skin: Crush a peeled banana with a fork, smooth onto your face, and leave on for 5 minutes.

6. Remove the mask with a clean tissue, then rinse your face with warm water.

7. Finish with a splash of cool water to freshen your skin. Pat dry with a washcloth or towel.

8. Dot your skin with moisturizer and massage it in to a encourage a brighter complexion!

Bathing in Cool Ways

How to Prepare a Relaxing Bath - wikiHow

Hey Everyone! Here is a how to for preparing a warm, relaxing, calm bath.. to soothe you and make you feel amazing! I love doing this.. Check it out!

LUSH Co.

It's the best! So cute in the recycleable package and when you open up you instantly have a good feeling after the lingering smell. So many shapes, sizes, and colors! But this is all natural. Something I'm always stocked up on. Eco friendly too! It's the best. Check it out here: Www.Lush.com or go to Lush Cosmetics at your local mall.

How to bathe like Cleopatra!

Cleopatra, the queen of ancient Egypt, was said to bathe in milk. You, too can take a milk bath to soothe and soften your skin.

Just add 2 Pints of whole milk to a tub of warm water. Swirl it around thoroughly so that the water becomes a creme or a white color. Hop in and have a good soak for at least twenty minutes. Rinse in clear, cool water.

(Yes, I know I have done a post exactly like this, but I added something and I reposted it because the other one was old.)

Busy.. Busy.. Busy..

I'm back! Sorry it's been a busy week. Alot of graduation parties, graduation itself, and swim parties! Today Rae has a 2 hour practice (they're in the FINALS!!) and then my parents are going out to dinner. So Sam may sleepover and swim with my bbsitter! And my other laptop was being hacked while my parents tried to reach our bank account. It's getting fixed :)

So.. What's up?

Staying Fit

How can you stay fit this Summer, when it's tempting to eat too many sweets? Here's how to stay fit, happy, healthy, and lookin' good!

1. Stay away from (too many) fatty foods. Stay on the lean, and green side. A bag of organic/baked chips or SunChips every once in a while will do!
2. Stay clean with Hygiene! Brush your teeth or even Crest WhiteStrips (I use them, I am only 11!), comb your hair, and make sure your hair gets trimmed for a healthy looking cut. Also, put a light lotion on that won't be so smelly and gooey. Maybe Cocoa Butter from Vaseline will help? Just a little dab to keep your skin glowing.
3. Wear Sun Lotion! The sun can do a lot to damage your skin. Even can result in death. At least put on a 30 SPF so you can get a little skin tan!
4. Run! I run min. two miles whenever I get a chance. Set a goal, and reach it! This will keep your body toned and ready for a bathingsuit!

Hope these will help you keep your health in check during the summer!

Here, you can find the base on how to start the "Sand & Shark MS" Cupcakes.

You will also need:

Vanilla Icing (Half of it will be blue in the end)

Color half or so of the vanilla icing blue with food dye. This will make the cupcake icing look like water

Shark & Sea Cupcake:

Bake the cupcakes by following the recipe up top. Spread the blue icing on top with a buutYou can use a piece of paper to cut shark fins out. This you would put in the blue icing like a shark fin slicing through the ocean.

Sand & Shade Cupcake:

Finely grind graham crackers to crumbs. Sprinkle them on top of the vanilla (not blue) icing. Then, stick a colorful drink umbrella or parasol on top!

And, snap! You're done!

Peace. Love. Bad Days.

*Hi.*
You know, some people haven't been so nice to me today. Blogs, emails, school, wherever. I am really tired of it. And some of the names I have mentioned in my blog are sadly the people who ruin my day. I am just getting sick over the thought of the attitude changes and pivot points from day to day.

But, you always have to have the good news last to cheer you up, and keep you reading (a blog master's secret.. sshh..). I don't want you to close or minimize the window on me! The good news, well I really don't have anything exciting, although I do have to tell you something.

Waffles and trips. And the busy schedule.

* Hey Everyone! *
At the moment, I am making homemade, vanilla, light and fluffy Belgian waffles. YUM. And, I am eating a white chocolate wafer ( a sphere-UFO/mini looking chocolate round ). YUM.

We love to make delicious wafflies, put them in Ziploc plastic baggies, and freeze them for the week.. They last a long time! And they taste delicious! It's a tradition. But usually, we have parfaits in the morning for breakfast. Mmmm..

But anyways, today was a great day. I finally got the purse I wanted from FR! Mom mom bought it- thanks so much MM! I think you'll be reading this.. Friends on my blog: you will see it Friday for Washington!

Charging phone and camera for Friday, packing bag with sweatpants- supposed to be thunderstorms that are isolated, very few booms.. and some rain... but it will be fun no matter what!

Finally, going to the book fair tomorrow. I saw so many books I like but I will only get like 3 or 4. That's it.

Then I also got my 100 bucks back from dad ( I got it for my birthday.. ) so I will be bringing about 1.5 of that to DC to cover dinner, souvenirs and miscellaneous.

I am all ready for another crazy day at school. Yep. I am always organized and prepared. NOT! But most of the time. F Day tomorrow. Health- boring but sometimes a spark of interest shows in my expression!

Christina Luvs You*

Mia T- I was kidding around!

I will not do that again.. I just wanted to see what that looks like!

To a great friend :)

I am pleased to say that I have one special friend who has been nice to me for a long time.

Yep, It's Maria! I haven't heard from her, because sometimes we get in little disagreements (not fights!), and we make up all of the time. We both have made up for all the craziness, and I hope to see her soon!

Love ya girl!

*Happy Mother's Day!*

May 9th- Mother's Day!

What did you do for your Mom? If you ask me, I did little things, but each of them made her feel special and appreciated.

My Dad gave her flowers, Eclat's Chocolate (the best chocolate on the planet- eclatchocolate.com -delicious chocolate shop in PA), new clothes from J. CREW. I gave her a card, a hug & *kiss*, thanks and a treat to brunch with close family members. Rae made her crafts because she's so unique, creative, and crafty :) Stella just loved her and was excited all morning.

Question of the Post:

What did you do for Mother's Day?

Back to Blog :)

* I am back to blog! *

Just another typical day at school... my blog posts have been becoming shorter and shorter, but I will make big long posts too.. School involves so many projects (DOING VERY WELL and MULTITASKING TOO!), good grades, and packets! At this point, I am drinking iced tea with mint slurping it up in a crazy straw.

The New Popular Stuff:

SillyBandz! Amazing! These adorable silcone-materialed, bright, colorful, uplifting rubber molds have been sold by the millions at this point. Stores are basically sold out all over the country! They are adorable to play with or even wear on your wrist as a little accessory. So cute for little kids (They enjoy them so much!), or even for middle-schoolers like me! Great accessory, and awesome party favor!
The person who made this is a gazillionaire!

Go Grab some of your own at sillybandz.com!

Jelly Balls:

Adorable, not so popular (the kids in my school love them) jelly bean-shaped objects.

"So cute and fun to squish and play with" -Maddie (My BFF)
Going out with a friend, then sleeepover!!!!!
DC Next Fri from 5 AM to 11 PM!!!!!

Phillies Fan- Crazed, and tasered?!

A law enforcement officer and stadium personnel check on fan that was chased down after running onto the field before the eighth inning of a baseball game between the Philadelphia Phillies and the St. Louis Cardinals, Monday, May 3, 2010, in Philadelphia. St. Louis won 6-3. (AP Photo/Matt Slocum) (Matt Slocum - AP)

PHILADELPHIA -- A police officer used a Taser gun to apprehend a fan who ran onto the field during a Phillies game Monday night, and the team and the police are investigating whether it was an appropriate use of force.
The fan, wearing a baseball cap, red T-shirt and khaki shorts, hopped a fence and scurried around the outfield, eluding two security officers in the bottom of the eighth inning against the St. Louis Cardinals. One officer used a Taser and the fan went down in a heap. Several Phillies placed gloves over their faces and appeared to be stifling laughter at the wild scene.
Phillies spokeswomen Bonnie Clark said the police department is investigating the matter and discussing with the team whether using the stun gun was appropriate.
Police spokesman Lt. Frank Vanore told The Philadelphia Inquirer police internal affairs will open an investigation to determine if the firing "was proper use of the equipment."
Vanore was not made available to The Associated Press when a call was placed to the police department's public affairs office late Monday night.
The teams said it's the first time a Taser has been used by police to apprehend a spectator who ran onto the field.
The fan was 17-year-old male and he will be charged with criminal trespass and related offenses, the team said. The Phillies did not release his name because he is a juvenile.

Relaxing :)

*Finally, a time to rest :)*
We stayed at the party until quarter after eleven-ish last night. It was a blast.. We met all the people at the prom and they looked awesome! But then this guy/party-planner dude came over and was like "You have to leave- this is a private after-prom party". So we left and then like every 5 minutes we would take a bite of our food and a sip of our shirley temples and then ran back to the tent and spied- it was so much fun! This morning I went for an hour bike ride with Sopha.. to HF which is like an hour on bikes in 90 degree weather going up hills with a cellphone and waterbottle in hand. But I have done it about 10 times.. I will take a run tonight- WHEN IT'S COOL! But I am enjoying the weather myself. When Sophie left, my parents and I cleaned up the yard- picked weeds, trimmed and pruned the plants, watered the blossoms & orchids, sprinkler-ed the grass, put out new dark mulch, cut the grass and gave special care to our new beautiful flowers my mom went to get on Friday because she is off every Fri. Sounds like a lot of work but it was quick & easy- and I enjoyed getting a little tan glow! My Mom also got some new mints, herbs, and tomato plants for our italian pots on the deck.. There is peppermint, mint, french lavender, regular lavender, chocolate mint (OMG IT's THE BEST!!!!!), rosemary, basil, and sage. It smells wonderful.. Then we got Yellow Sugar Tomatoes and Cherry Tomatoes as well... We grew them last year and we were successful!

Now my Dad's like really close friend is over..

Question of the Post:

Do you like yard-work? Do you plant new plants and "spruce" up your green-growing-grass once in a while?

I will be writing another post shortly- adding some music to my blog so you can jam out while reading!

:) Smile- it's 90!

{CM} © 2010
We stayed up until 3 AM.. Getting ready to head to another softball game at 9.. Sorry I can't write alot right now.. But I have to go get changed.

:)Christina

I will be back later!

{CM}
Heading out to party all night with friends & fam- Sophie is sleeping over! Will be back 2 blog- late
Hey! So after all of the negative *cough cough* stuff going on you need something to look forward to. And that is the weekend after a week of tiring work..

Hello. Bad day.

Wow. I have really bumped into some really not-so-nice people today. I just don't understand.

Here's my new sig: just because of someone who had to go off about copying.

© {CM}

Like it?
Hope you do. I am so happy that I really don't treat people like that. Especially in front of my friends. And this isn't just directed to one person. Some days aren't great like today- except it's Friday! But I always remember.

1. Take a deep breath and relax. Go bathe in the sun if wanted with some iced tea.
2. Calm down and discuss the situation with a friend to let the angry-monster come out of you.
3. Don't let that person ruin your night!
4. Think about all the positive things..

And comment if you need a little support :)

Softball and parties, ohh and sleepovers! Crazy as always. That's just the fam!

So what are you up to this weekend?

Look for my next post about tips on teeth! I think I'll post that tonight. Remember- this blog is about being the natural girl I am and giving you tips on how to be who you want to be!

hey! I'm at SAMs house having a blast!!
Life is great.
I just met two girls, Alexa and Erika and they're definitely going to be some good friends. I will meet with them soon and in fact they're probably reading this! But anyways, we bought about 400 packs of sillybandz today :) I love them, I really do. I practically wear about 100 on each arm, they're soo much fun. Finally got my nails done, bright pink.. I hope Sam's is still on tonight... My Dad & Mom both agreed on me having a sleepover last night but none of my friends could! Dad is making steaks on the grill, Mom making salad and more.. she's a great cook. Actually dad is better but mom has a great roll of baking! Neighbors got broken into, well actually by accident they left the garage open.. poor them. I wish them the best luck on finding out who it is! And they live right next to me; I hope we aren't the next victim!
My iTouch is fixed so I will be posting alot more!

Question of the Post:

Do you like SillyBandz? Do you even know what they are?

Leave your answer in the comments!

-Christina

class

hey- just got finished class!! having cereal and cheese :)

Heading to Dance <3

Hey! So, I'm about to head out for dance. I will definitely blog you after class because they have wifi. So how are you? Rhetorical q because half of you won't answer it- but that's ok!

-Christa :)

My Day and My dinner!

Today was an ok day. Everyone was nice but my "Bridge Builder Co." friends and group members arent being the nicest to me. I feel like I am pushed to do all this drawing while they sit there and talk and chatter. And there's ton of work to do- picky Mr. Hicks (A JOKE!) wants it to be just right, and I don't blame him. But we are going to get a pep-talk from Mrs. Fig tomorrow and a fresh start on our second piece of paper- and this time we WILL get approved. I can't complain- at least I have smart people in my group. But today- there were alot of crying and teary eyes. It gets stressful. But that's life!
So anyways, other then that everything went awesome. Olivia is my bff. I love her (jokingly). She's so nice, and she doesn't turn on you like a non-true (made up) friend. Right now I'm getting ready for dinner (Chicken Cutlets with seasoning, rice and a mozzerella salad :)) Yumm...And I'm watching Millionaire Matchmaker- it's hilarious how cheezy they can be.. but I love Bravo in general, aha.

MRS. WEAVER COMMENTED ON MY "BULLIES :P" POST!

STOP BULLYING!!!!

Christa .:.:.

Bullies :P

So, lately I have been noticing alot of unfairness between people. (family)
I have stood up for the weak, to be a good person. My worst enemies are mr. miserable, and mrs. fight. Yep. Not only family but I have been noticing in school, innapropriate things said to other people, calling names, and the whole 9 yards. Don't be a bully-and stand up for the sad one!

Gotta go eat dinner, I'll write another post as soon as I'm done.

:) Smile, you made it through the day

Sleepovers, and Update for the day!

Hey! So I just woke up at my cousin's house. I sleptover and it was sooo much fun. We took vids on facebook and Joey was like attacking us. LOL. Right now, Marco is sitting next to me, watching me type. So, today I will be pretty busy so I figured I'd write my new post for the day now. Sorry I haven't blogged for a few days, I've been preeetty busy from the PSSAs to Softball Practices, Parties, and Sleepovers.. My Mom is safe at home, she is the only one there with my pup of course. But my dad is in the Dominican Republic- as I said earlier in a Post- golfing with his friends. He's been there for a week and a half but will be home tomorrow night very late! So, today my day consists of Softball Games/Pictures (Sister and the cousins might come), Baseball Games/Pictures (Cousins), Seeing if tonight we can still have a sleepover (Sam & I), Packing my bag for Sams, ughh. It's alot and we are going to be juggling all of us cousins around to my house, their house, pictures and games. It's going to be alot of lugging because there is 4 of them.. But it will be fun. So that is my day. No time for relaxing. Maybe I'll run on the treadmill or run outside.. AND I GOT BIT BY A SPIDER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hah.

Wednesday, April 14, 2010

Again, eating this salad that sometimes makes me sick. It consists of lettuce, thick strips of mozzarella, and vinegrette. So, anyways, Rae's friend is over, Coryn. They wanted to go to the creek, but they didn't b/c right now there are creepy people down there :( So, my only homework this week(because we have the PSSAs) was to do the Social Studies test. At home. But the good thing is we can use the computer and stuff :) Thats where the smiles started. So, I made this really good close relationship with Nick :) Very happy. Feel like I'm in the Hunter-Olivia situation. Dad is in the Dominican Republic playing golf at this luxurious place, and he's with like 7 of his friends and 1 brother. Can't imagine what's going on. Lol :P

1 1/2 teaspoons
baking powder
1/4 teaspoon fine
salt
2 large eggs, room temperature
2/3 cup sugar
3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
2 teaspoons pure
vanilla extract
1/2 cup
milk

Icing:

1 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar
2 to 3 tablespoons Prosecco or Champagne
Sanding sugar or tiny
candies, for decorating
Equipment: 2 mini
muffin tins, (to make 48 small cupcakes)

Directions:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Line the muffin tin with mini cupcake liners.
Whisk the flour, baking powder, and salt together in a medium bowl.
In another medium bowl, beat the eggs and sugar with an electric mixer until light and foamy, about 2 minutes. While beating, gradually pour in the butter and then the vanilla.
While mixing slowly, add half the dry ingredients, then add all the milk, and follow with the rest of the dry ingredients. Take care not to over mix the batter. Divide the batter evenly in the prepared tins (about 2 teaspoon batter per cup cake.)
Bake until a tester inserted in the center of the cakes comes out clean, about 15 minutes. Cool cupcakes on a rack in the tin.

Icing:

Whisk together the confectioners' sugar and Prosecco until smooth and sugar dissolves. (If cupcakes are not cool enough to ice, lay plastic film directly on top of the glaze to prevent it from drying out and set aside at room temperature until ready to use.) Dip the tops of each baby cake in the sprinkles with sugar or top with tiny candies and return to the rack to set, about 25 minutes.

Chick and Egg Cupcake

Ingredients
1
vanilla cupcake, recipe follows
About 1/3 cup White Fluff
Frosting, recipe follows
Green coconut grass, recipe follows
6 small candied malt balls (2 yellow, 2 pink, 2 white)
1 yellow chick peep
White Airhead
candy
Directions

Frost a cupcake with fluff frosting. Press a circle of coconut grass on top. Nestle the malted eggs on top of the grass. Gently press the peep onto the center of the grass. Cut the white Airhead into a 1/2 oval shape; trim one side so it has a cracked egg jagged edge. Place egg next to chick.

Vanilla Cupcakes:
2 2/3 cups sugar
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, cut into 1-inch pieces
2 large eggs
2 large egg yolks
2/3 cup
milk
2/3 cup
water
2 1/2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
2 2/3 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/3 cups
cake flour
4 teaspoons
baking powder
1/2 teaspoon fine salt

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line two 12-cup cupcake tins with paper liners. (To avoid cupcakes sticking if they overflow slightly, lightly spray the tops of the pans.) Put tins on a baking sheet. Set aside.

Process sugar and butter in a food processor until very creamy, scraping sides as needed, 1 to 2 minutes. Add the eggs and yolks, one at a time, pulsing after each addition. Add the milk, water, and vanilla and process to blend.

Whisk both flours, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl. Add the dry ingredients, in 3 batches to the wet, pulsing, and then scraping batter off the sides of the processor as needed after each addition. Process until the batter is very smooth and pourable like pancake batter, about 2 minutes.

Evenly pour the batter into the prepared cups, filling them 3/4 of the way full. Bake until the cakes are just firm and spring back when gently pressed, and the tops are golden, 18 to 25 minutes. Cool slightly in tin, and turn out of tin when cool enough to handle. Cool cupcakes completely on a rack before frosting.

Yield: 24 cupcakes
Prep Time: 20 minutes
Cook Time: 25 minutes
Inactive Prep Time: 30 minutes
Ease of preparation: easy

Fluff Frosting:
1/4 cup whole milk
2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
10 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
5 cups confectioners' sugar
1/2 cup marshmallow fluff
Pinch fine salt

Whisk the milk and vanilla extract together in a small bowl.
Slowly beat the butter and sugar, in another medium bowl, with an electric mixer until incorporated. Raise the speed to high and mix until light and fluffy, about 5 to 7 minutes.

(Occasionally turn the mixer off, and scrape the sides of the bowl down with a rubber spatula.) Add the fluff and salt and reduce the speed to low. Add the milk and vanilla mixture, scrape the bowl down, and mix until fully incorporated. Raise the mixer to high and beat briefly until fluffy, about 1 to 2 minutes. Frost cupcake immediately.

Yield: 3 3/4 cups

Coconut Easter Grass for Cupcakes:
2 cups sweetened shredded coconut
1 to 2 teaspoons liquid green food coloring
1/2 to 1 teaspoon liquid yellow food coloring

Preheat oven to 250 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Place a mesh rack on top, if available.

Put coconut in a shallow bowl. While tossing with a large spoon, add food coloring drop by drop until the desired color is reached. A little more green than yellow makes a pretty grass color.

Add a few tablespoons water to moisten the mixture and help disperse the color evenly. If the color is too dark, add additional water, as needed, to dilute to the desired color. Drain the coconut in a sieve or strainer.

Spread the coconut in an even layer on the rack, or directly on the lined baking sheet. Place in the oven until dry, about 10 to 15 minutes. Use immediately, or store in covered container for up to 3 days.

Cook's Note: Food coloring can be messy and can stain your skin. To prevent this, wear latex gloves. You may find it easier to color the coconut in a large zip top plastic bag, tossing it to color evenly.

Yield: 2 cups coconut grass
